In January, I had the opportunity to attend a presentation by Matthew Kelly with some wonderful friends. We all drove to O'Fallon, IL to receive some inspiration. Matthew Kelly is a motivational speaker who inspires people to become the best version of themselves.
During his presentation he talked about the process of change. He said most people think they don't like change, but upon further inspection, it isn't change that they don't like. It is the transition period to change. Most people would like to weigh less, have more energy, make more money, travel more, but most people are not willing to make the changes necessary to transform their lives into what they want.
Ask yourself, what am I willing to do to have the life I always wanted? If you knew you couldn't fail to have more energy, look great and have prosperity would you be willing to make the necessary changes to transform your life? Most people would say, yes. So why don't we make these changes.
I believe people don't make these changes because they feel the price to change is too painful. So many people will decide they can't take being overweight anymore, so they radically change their diet and start a rigorous exercise routine. You can do this for a day or two and then decide it is just not worth it and go back to your old patterns. Change doesn't have to be radical. Life is all about choices. You can decide, do I want to have an Egg McMuffin from McDonalds for breakfast or would I rather have nature's fast food, fresh fruit. Which would nourish my body? Would I rather watch a 30 minute sit com or take a walk with my significant other? Throughout the day, you are faced with numerous decisions. As each decision presents itself, ask yourself, what is the option that will help me get closer to being the best version of myself? As you create this habit, you will discover that change can be fun and empowering. As you take control of your health and wellness and feel your energy levels soar you will be grateful that you decided to change into the best version of yourself, instead of just a mediocre version. We all have but one life to live. Do you want to waste it feeling sick and tired or do you want to have energy and vitality to enjoy every minute of it?
