Health Coaching FAQs

What is Health Coaching?

Health Coaching is a step-by-step process moving you towards your health and wellness goals.  The coaching relationship empowers you to create permanent changes that you have found difficult to do on your own.  Your coach will provide you with support, educational resources, weight loss, stress management and other health improvement tools, as well as one-on-one motivation to achieve your goals.  All our coaching is done via the telephone and internet to ensure efficient use of your time.

Why do we specialize in health coaching for women?

Women have unique needs and wants different from men.  Women are the care givers of their family; they tend to be more emotionally involved with all aspects of life and typically the meal preparers in a family.  As women, who have struggled with health and weight loss issues and created permanent change, we can relate to the unique issues women struggle with on a daily basis.  We desire to educate and empower women to take control of their health and wellness to live a life filled with energy, joy and health. 

How does health coaching work?

Health coaching works on several different levels to create permanent healthy lifestyle changes.  As individuals, each one of us has unique issues and lifestyle situations that require different tools and techniques to achieve optimal wellness.  Your coach will work within the uniqueness of your lifestyle to develop a step-by-step program for you to achieve your weight loss, stress management, lifestyle balance, diet and nutrition, rest and physical activity goals you have always wanted to achieve.   Your coach will work with you via the telephone on a regular basis to set up your plan, discuss baby steps to move you towards your goal, support and educate you as you move towards your goal and hold you accountable for achieving your baby steps. 

How much time is involved in health coaching?

Health Coaching does require a commitment of time.  Typically you will meet with your health coach via the telephone for 30 minutes 3 to 4 times per month.  You will also have small baby steps that you will be doing each week to develop new health habits.  The amount of time these baby steps take vary depending on your goals.  The baby steps start out as very small changes to guarantee your success and gradually build on each other each week.  You will determine how much time you have to devote towards improving your health and wellness.

How long does health coaching take?

Typically health coaching takes a commitment of 6 to 12 months to achieve permanent changes.  Research has shown it takes at least 6 months to condition the body and mind to create new healthy habits.  Most women have taken a lifetime to create their current lifestyle and it takes a period of time to undue a lifetime of unhealthy habits.
